Interests
I am interested in people who are trying to figure out how to make the best of a bad situation. Sometimes we all need to vent and whine, though. I mostly like to look for the positive in a situation. I usually announce when I'm going to whine, then I'll whine and say what's wrong, then I'll say, OK, I'm done whining now. My husband gives me extra sympathy because I don't belabor the point.

Diagnosed 15 years ago. Terrible problem with nodules. Would almost bet that I have more nodules than anyone here. Not that I'm trying to diminish anyone's struggle, just trying to give you a picture of mine. Actually, bragging. Isn't that pathetic? Just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I posted pix of my right foot/ankle/calf nodules...

- Can't even remember...
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- Doubled my dose recently. I'm losing my hair, which is a drag. Doc said increased dose may slow hair loss. ???
- Humira Working / Worked
- STARTING SOON! Any advice appreciated. I'm nervous about giving myself the pen injection, but I take Lantus by pen. Is it worse than that? Anybody?
- Ibuprofen Working / Worked
- This is absolutely a wonder drug. Helps better than any other pain relief. Lucky for me! I take 800 mgs, as needed, up to three times daily. It reduces inflammation, but you must eat food with it, cuz it can tear up your stomach lining, also hard on your liver.
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- On it - probably contributes to my nodules. Just increased my dose to 8 tabs weekly on the way up to 10. But nodules increased dramatically, so staying at 8 and adding Humira. Looking for advice on that...
- Plaquenil Not Working
- Allergic itching reaction in hands. It was AWFUL.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- OMG I love this stuff, wish I could take it full time. Only use it for bad flares. Makes you feel so much better, but this latest time I had a bit of a crash afterwards. Flared right up immediately after, and fatigue beyond belief. ... Since I wrote that, have had two more tapered doses of prednisone - on my third right now and feel like Wonder Woman, but know I will crash when I come off it unless the Humira starts soon. We'll see how quick we can work out ins., etc, then whether it works.

- Remicade Working / Worked
- Don't know how much it really helped. Came off due to insurance problems. It seemed to keep the flares down.
