Well, things are settling down again in my crazy life. I was looking through my journals and "wild" and "crazy" are the two words that I use most frequently to describe my life. I thought my wild and crazy days were over twenty years ago!!! :) Well, at least I'm not bored.... Frequently over stimulated but never bored. :)
As you can see, I am finding my smile again, which is a good thing!
Last week, Aubrey and Kylie went up to the northern edge of lower Michigan for Ethin's funeral. Or that was the plan. Thursday night, I get a call from Ron, Kylie's back in the hospital. Aubrey had driven 4 hours to get her to U of M. She passed a kidney stone during that drive... Thank God the doctors had given them a script for oxycodone. She has a UTI that almost went to urosepsis. She should be out tomorrow.
We were up there yesterday. Now the area I live in is very flat and fertile. The early settlers called it "The Great Black Swamp" and it was... 5 months out of the year it is kind of gray and brown, but come May through the middle of November it is a green and golden world. And right now, it is just about perfect. I have made that trip to U of M so many times...It is just good to watch the crops grow. I have looked out the window at the courtyard in the center of the medical buildings so many times... Now the courtyard is a really neat place to go outside and watch the children play... or celebrate a birthday!
Yep, today is Aubrey's birthday. This is Ron and Aubrey's BIG week...Both of their birthdays and their wedding aniversary is on the ninth. So we got some cupcakes and some cards and celebrated Aubrey's birthday up there. You should have seen the look on Kylie's face when we took a little frosting and put it on her tongue. "YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN HOLDING OUT ON ME!!!"
No oral aversion there. Kylie was really very sick there last week, it is great to see "Princess Giggles" come back. She was all flirty and funny and just laughing her head off.
Aubrey is much better too. Aubey Jo has been worrying me, just showing signs of stress, wear and tear... Then again we all are. I spent last Tuesday with her, and I am worried. She was much better yesterday, but please keep her and Ron in your prayers, as well as the rest of us.
Jessica has chosen to honor Ethin's life by raising awareness about CHD. She has a number of things planned and I will upate you. The main one right now is a letter writing campaign to be sent to Oprah, GMA, etc. There are four "heart moms" heading this up. If you like, write a letter about how Congenital heart disease has impacted your life. I know most of you don't have kids with CHD, but a whole lot of you have followed my story. Write your letter and Jess' email is on www.carepages.com Ethinspage. You can check out Aubrey's letter on Kylie's page. (keyword Stowers Kylie)That would be one way to comfort her and I would appreciate it so much.
These flawed children truly are gifts from God and they can teach you so much... I truly believe that they are the Bravest little souls. And so many of you have touched my heart with your words of kindness and support. Let's just see what happens...
Those five little words, let's just see what happens, have gotten me into a lot of trouble over the years but... Some amazing things have happened too.
Gonna do a little more stuff on ds, then I have to take Paul to work and meet Missy, Christian and Joanna (another of Christian's nurses) over at the botanical gardens. Gonna introduce Christian to some flowers and frogs, and geese, and enjoy this lovely green and gloden world that God has given us. Love and blessings, Diane

"Let's just see what happens..." -- that's all you can do, really. I think that you see what is in 'the plan' and go with it. I'm so glad to hear an update from you. I always look forward to your updates.

Prayer requests: There's a little newborn up at U of M that they are waiting for an ECMO circuit to come available so they can do a Norwood on him. All of the ECMO units are in use, rumor has it mostly with small kids with swine flu. This isn't a real good situation.
Ally is at the top of the transplant list... her condition is deteriorating and now it's a race to see if they can find a compatible heart for her before she gets too ill.
Brittny's really anemic. They have started her on Procrit, but they may have to transfuse her. They don't like to transfuse transplant patients because it makes the immune system more sensitive.
Missy goes to the court investigator tomorrow... trying to justify supervised visitation and the protection order. I will also probably be called in to witness to some of the stuff I have seen too. Just send out some broad spectrum prayers... Love and blessings, Diane
Oh...And pray about my son Ron and his schooling. It looks like an opportunity will open up for him to go to school for free...If he can work full time plus be supportive with Aubrey and Kylie. It sounds like a very busy life, but Ron's tough and has a lot of energy
