What a great Sunday!!! Mood
Monday, June 15, 2009 | A General Update story

Yesterday was such a fine, fine day. Went to church with my family, had a LOT of quality time with Kylie. She is the funniest little fireball I have ever met!!! She is a cheeseball... Just flirts with everybody she sees. She also still has that fighting temper...I got her settled down for a nap and was a Kylie bed throughout the sermon. She'd stir, I'd whisper to her, she'd smile in her sleep and go back to sleep.

We had a food take-in over at R and A's planned. I fix a home cooked meal, buy paper plates and plastic silverware, bring the food to their house and take all the dirty dishes home with me! No mess, no fuss homecooked dinner for all, especially Aubrey. I talked it over with Aubrey and she said "Sure, invite Missy and Christian." So... Kylie got to meet Christian and Christian met Kylie. Two big old miracles in one kitchen. So we ate dinner and then Kylie and Christian had their first "play date". If you could see how they checked each other out!!! Kylie's enormous blue eyes and Christian's even bigger brown eyes met and they looked like lovers meeting on the "Romance channel"! It was like, "you are just my size, Wow, what a concept." Kylie was in her exercizer thing, a walker with a lot of other stuff and safer than a regular walker. Christian was in her pack and play. and they just sat there and stared during dinner. Total fascination! Then, we went into Kylie's playroom, Set the kids up to play, and had some good old fashioned girl talk. And laughed and laughed and laughed! The guys, Ron and Paul, fell asleep out in the living room. I have not seen Missy this happy in a long time, and Christian said a new word "bog" while he was petting Duke, Al's labrador retriever. He meant "dog". He'd never seen a dog before, or petted an animal. And Paul and I heard Kylie say "Mama" It may have been an accident but it was mama.

I have to go dark on Missy and Christian now, with the trial starting tomorrow I cannot do anything that is going to screw up the trial. Just pray really hard for us, message me if you really must have an update, and remember... no news is good news.

Pray also for Brittney Butcher, she's 11 and had a heart transplant back during Kylie's first hospitalization. I have kept track of her on her personal Care page, I found her mom's and she isn't doing as good as she says she is. She has anemia, a common side effect of the drugs she is on to protect her new heart and no energy whatsoever. The Butchers are incredible people so pray for them.

Also Keep Zachy in your prayers, he is a little guy with a really messed up heart. He's not a hypoplastic baby, but it's worse so, he has a Hemi-Fontan scheduled for Wednesday so pray hard.

I always try to be happy with who I am and not to regret anything but... I wish I would have had a chance at med school. If I knew then, what I knew now (:) ) I would have moved mountains to become a cardiac surgeon on Bove's Peds Cardiac Team. I know they aren't gods but they sure work miracles.

Pray for me, I'm scared, but convinced that this battle is God's and he's going to work this whole mess out to prosper all of us and give us peace.

Love and blessings, Diane
