I have 3 great grown children, 4 wonderful grandkids, and 4 step grandkids, 1 stepson and 1 deceased step daughter.(I miss her terribly, she was my focus for getting thru pain most nights.) I also have a son -in -love and three daughters-in-love.. one son in love of our deceased daughter. My husb. is truck driver,so I stay home with the pets. I like to go to church, when I can, read, watch TV, and play with the grandbabies. I enjoy my computer also. I Thank God daily for my family, & friends.

Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
I am an IC,(w/a cystocyle,& a rectocycle), FM, CFS, IBS, & other 2 numerous to mention problems patient... I was diagnoised in 1999 and took 7 yrs. to finally get on SSI disabiity. IC is the worst yet!. I have suffered many sleepless nights, and get no rem sleep most nights. Up several times per night, and day to the bathroom. Elmiron may finally be helping with the other comb. of drugs, at least I can now drive myself places. It is a relief not to depend on others so much.
Treatments
- Bladder Distention Working / Worked
- I have had this with Hydrodestention, urodyanimics and cystoscopy several times, it helps for a few weeks, then back to the usual.My bladder is now down to holding only 5.5 oz. and still have bladder spasms regularly. Stress is the main thing that brings on the spasms. Now I'm waiting for a magic cure-all pill!
- Bladder Instillation Not Working
- I had one round of (6) treatments. This was the MOST painful experiene of my life! NEVER again will I have this done personally. Can't say it did anything for me except cause PAIN!!
- Elmiron Working / Worked
- I have been on Elmiron for two yrs this time, and 1 1/2 yrs bfore. Had to quit due to no ins. and couldn't pay for it. It may be taking effect now, and hopefuly it will continue to help. Most bad side eff. is I am loosing my hair daily and if it will help the pain, I may be bald woman before long. Just taking one day at a time.
- Pyridium Working / Worked
- I was on this for several yrs. and may have helped some, but now I am on Urogesic blue.
- Elmiron Working / Worked
- My urolosist is helping with my treatments now and think we may be on the right track finally.
- Atarax Working / Worked
- This is a combo. with the other drugs to help with the pain and spasms.
- Elavil Working / Worked
- This is a combo. with the other drugs to help with the pain and spasms.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- This is a combo. with the other drugs to help with the pain and spasms.
- Valium Working / Worked
- I have had as they call them "panic attacks" so I am on this for them and depression.
