    • About Me

I have been a type one diabetic since the age of 5 and use an insulin pump. I am more then happily married to one terrific awesome furry faced husband who at expense of his head growing to large will admit I adore. I have no biological children of my own nor do we ever plan to but do have two rascally ferrets that have definitely weasled their way into my heart. In 2008 on the 4th of July I was diagnosed with RA. :(

Diagnosed 4th of July weekend in 2008. I wasn't able to get up out of a chair on my own and when assisted I screamed out loud in agony and tears would roll down my face. Looking back I had several instances of "sausage" fingers, wrist pains, trigger finger, shoulder pain, and was even put in darco shoes for my feet. Was told several times I had jumpers knee and I am not athletic! Currently still seeking to right "cocktail" of drugs to keep me functional.

      Treatments

      Enbrel Considering
To start treatment in the next couple of weeks.
      Folic Acid Working / Worked
Doubled the dose and my extreme chills from the MTX stopped.
      Hydroxychloroquine Too Soon to Tell
      Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
Did decrease swelling. Intense fatigue, massive brain fog, nausea, diarrhea, joint pain, and hair loss even at 12.5 mgs injected.
      Prednisone Working / Worked
Was common for me to go over 70 hours without sleeping. Could not regulate insulin needs to steroids. Had to over quintuple my basel rates. Did get a moon face and burning purple stretch marks on abdomen, thighs, and arms.
