About Me
I was a counselor for 18 years before I went out on disability from severe back problems and what I now know was MS. I got disabilty easily since I couldn't stand the pain of sitting! I have two teenage boys - the oldest is 15 and autistic - the youger one has a prosthetic left leg, severe ADHD. My 79 y/o mother is taking care of the family and is the only one who drives because of my MS vision problems. I have the hobby of making natural cosmetics. The other passion I have is my puppy - Rosie.

Interests
I love working with herbs - mostly in making natural products like 'Stop Pain stick' and 'Jackie's Famous Itch Cream' and 'Bruise Away' since I fall all of the time:) I just have fun making creams and lip balms etc. It keeeps me busy and I have a small clientele (sp). I also love to spend time with my Rosi and my three cats! I also like to cook for my boys! Mom is now in a Nursing Home Temporarily - so I am doing more around the house and it is killing ME!

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSMisdiagnosed for many years as CFIDS and I also have severe back problems which everyone blamed for my inability to walk at times, and my nerve pain. I have a pain pump which has dilaudid, baclofen and clonidine in it. I just started the copaxone shots and they are so painful to me and cause me instant nausea. The other treatments and the "flu like" symptoms would be bad for me as they may make my tendendancy toward depression worse. My eyes and left leg are affected the worst - I cannot drive.
Treatments
- Copaxone Too Soon to Tell
- I HATE the injections They hurt like a bitch! I get a slightly tight chest every time and nausea - I don't know if I will be able to stay on it! HELP! The other options sound worse!
- Neurontin Somewhat Helpful
- I take Lyrica - after I took neurotin for years. Nuerotin made me dumb drunk - I couldn't take it - Lyrica agrees a lot better.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- I had infusions of some strong predisone-like drug for 3 days - it had bad side efects - like a "BAD" headache - but it worked miracles for my legs! Couldn't live without it. I also have to take xanax to take because prednisone makes me very irratable with my boys!
- Zanaflex Working / Worked
- Yes, have been on it for years and think it is a wonderful drug - although it makes me sleepy - so I only take it at night or in crisis.
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Works well with nerve pain! I tkae it every night - it makes me a little drosy during the day!
