About Me
I'm a busy 39 year old mom with two kids & a hubby. My kids are 19 and 9. My oldest has bi-polar disorder and my 9 year old has cystic fibrosis. There are days when I feel as strong as a super hero, and other days when I think I might crumble under the stress. I'm hoping I can connect with parents and folks with CF or bi-polar disorder through DailyStrength as a means of giving and receiving support.

Treatments
- Zoloft Somewhat Helpful
- My oldest son takes Zoloft for his depression that accompanies the Bipolar disorder. It makes him sleepy and found that he can function better at work if he takes it at night. It works well.........when he takes it.
- Abilify Working / Worked
- This works when he takes it. Stubborn boy...
- Pulmozyme Working / Worked
- Works wonderfully. Our youngest uses this every night as part of his lung therapy.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- We are lucky in that we have a huge support system of friends and family. We are fortunate in this arena. If we didnt living with bipolar and CF would be impossible.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- Always trying to find the brighter side of the situation helps. Were all human and cant help but feel down and blue sometimes. But knowing that tomorrow may be a brighter day helps.
- Symbicort Working / Worked
- Our CFer was using QVAR for a while and it seemed to loose its effectiveness. We switched to Symbicort and it helped tremendously. However it makes him hoarse sometimes.
- Xopenex Working / Worked
- Our CFer uses this before PE and right before his vest treatment. Seems to help quite a bit. I prefer Xopenex over Albuterol because it accomplishes the same goal but doesnt leave him feeling jittery and hyper.
- Flonase Working / Worked
- Works great! He uses this as part of his daily a.m. bathroom routine. He does a sinus wash then blows really good then uses the Flonase. This has reduced if not eliminated his nasal polyps.
