I AM A 62 YEAR OLD WIDOW WITH TWO GROWN SONS. I LOVE TO READ (MYSTERIES AND TRUE CRIME) AND I LIKE TO TAKE WALKS ALTHOUGH IT IS HARD FOR ME TO DO SO BECAUSE I HAVE A BAD BACK. I AM A LONER SO THIS IS PERFECT FOR ME. BECAUSE I HAVE LIVED WITH DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION (HUSBAND, 2 SONS) FOR ABOUT 15-20 YEARS AND I STILL HAVE TROUBLE WITH ENABLING.

i am back. not sure why i was mia. anyway, not doing so well. my son is in prison. eligible for parole in another 19 months. very unhappy with my job, have been for a long time, financial troubles, just more depressed than usual. I have seen my md and go back to a psych. for med adjusments. need to join the Depression Support Group in addition to this. don't mean to bring you all down. thanks for the hugs and prayers. I hope you are well. xo

MY HUSBAND AND 2 SONS ARE ALL ALCOHOLICS. MY HUSBAND IS DECEASED FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS. MY OLDER SON IS IN STATE PRISON BECAUSE OF HIS ALCOHOL USE. MY YOUNGER SON LIVES WITH ME, BUT HE IS STILL ACTIVE IN HIS ADDICTION.

- Zoloft Working / Worked
- I HAVE TRIED A LOT OF ANTIDEPRESSANTS BUT ZOLOFT WORKS GREAT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I ALSO SUFFER FROM POST TRAMATIC STRESS SYNDROME. I STILL HAVE NIGHTMARES.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- I ALSO HAVE HYPOTHYRODISM AND IT WENT UNDETECTED FOR YEARS SO NOW I HAVE TO TAKE ANTIDEPRESSANTS AND THIS MED.
- Seroquel Working / Worked
- I HAVE HAD INSOMMINA FOR YEARS AND IT GRADUALLY GOT WORSE SO DOCTOR PUT ME ON SEROQUEL AND IT WORKS WONDERS. IT WAS A LONG TIME SINCE I HAD SLEPT ONE NIGHT THROUGH THE NIGHT.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- I HAVE GONE TO ALANON FOR ABOUT 23 YEARS HAVE GONE TO TOUGH LOVE FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS AND I ALSO WAS IN THERAPY FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- I TRY TO REMEMBER THAT EVERY NEGATIVE THOUGHT CAN BE REPLACED WITH A POSITIVE ONE BUT SOMETIMES ITS HARD TO REMEMBER THAT.

MY HUSBAND DIED 15 YRS. AGO AT AGE 53. HE WAS AN ALCOHOLIC, WE HAVE 2 SONS. THEY ARE BOTH ALCOHOLICS. FOR 15 YR+ I'VE LIVED WITH THIS AND IT IS HARD, HARD, HARD TO KEEP GOING.

My husband and 2 sons were and are all alcoholics. My husband is deceased since 1993. My older son is in state prison and my younger son lives with me and is active in his addiction.
