  RosanneA: A year and a half ago, my neurologist took me off all over the counter pain medication that I was taking for my "everyday" headaches. I can't recall what terminology she used, but the medications were actually causing my headaches to get worse and sometimes go into migraines, which I've been suffering with for years and years. I'm on daily migraine preventatives and antidepressants (which work with the preventatives) and they are helping somewhat. Don't give up trying to find something that works for you. You probably should go to the ER. Take care!!!!

  Hi Rosanne, good news, Topomax knocked out my migraines. I used to have 2-3 a week and now I get maybe 1 every 3 months. I am on 200mg a night. Whe I first started it I had ZERO head pain. IT WORKS WONDERS for my migraine pain. It makes you a little dumb in the head & curbs your appetite as side effects. But if you are suffering from migraines, seek a new neurologist first (waiting until june is wrong!) and get some Topomax ASAP. I wouldn't wait on that one... Hugs, Holliday

  Your Not Alone Rosanne. I noticed in a recent post that you felt alone. This is the greatest group of people in pain that I have ever met! I used to feel alone & my family told me that they were tired of listening to my complaints about pain. This TN pain is a monster that steals a part of our sanity and normalcy. Being here with people who are in the same boat has given me a sense of community and caring that I needed a long time ago. I sure hope you don't feel alone for very long.   I've just had what seems to be successful microvascular decompression on the right. I'm three weeks post-op. They told me that my symptoms were not "usual" or "typical" and I fought repeatedly to have something done. I think it worked and I may be rid of a pain I've had for thirty five years. Yes - I had weird sensitive spots in relation to pain episodes, which were mostly daily. Hang in there!

  I was on Tegretol tell my white count went down and had to go off of it. So right now I'm not on anything. I go back next week for new meds. I will let you know what he puts me on. The tegretol did help...I just cant take it

  I wish you the best Rosanne. I have it too!!! Your in the right place because those of us who have this are the only ones who understand the pain levels this crap can reach.
