      Thanks so much for your kind words of support. I am thankful I don't have kidney stones because I hear they can REALLY hurt! I hope you get relief from this soon and that your cyst doesn't grow. I have literally thousands of cysts and my kidneys are the size of NFL footballs! but oddly enough, they aren't too painful.

      I am PKU and I have been off diet since I was 6 years old. And when I was 35 years old I decided to go back on diet 100%. Well I didnt exactly get back on 100%...I had to give up everything I was used to eating like any normal person and it has now taken me over 5 years to get the hang of this diet. I am PKU and also DIABETIC....and I am frustrated, but I am doing it. And all is OK.

    • Close Kidney Stones

      My first diagnosis of Kidney Stones happened to me just right after I got married. The week of our Honeymoon...it just hit me like a ton of bricks. What happened was the stones were blocking my bladder and that Christmas (Dec 2006) I had to have surgery. OMG...I just got married and here I am in the hospital. I just have to tell you I have the best husband...he takes care of me. Then just a few weeks ago I had another attack. However, my symptoms were totally different this time around.

      Treatments

      Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
      I used to be a real big Soda drinker...and nowadays I try to drink as much water as possible. Now lemonade. I guess fresh Lemonade is what's best.
      Surgery Working / Worked
      I had to have a Right Uretorscopy the week of Christmas 2006...that is where they put in a stint. OMG that was the most painful thing I ever went thru. I was in pain for a week...but believe it or not I passed my stone all by myself thank God and after getting the stint out & using Flomax to help me pass the stone. I felt alot better.

    • Open Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

      Treatments

      Depo-Provera Not Working
      Metformin Somewhat Helpful
      Helps with my Diabetes but not PCOS.
      Oral Contraceptives Somewhat Helpful
      Tried, it helped in the beginning but then my body got immune to it.

    • Open Diabetes Type 2

      I was diagnosed with Diabetes by my Gynecologist believe it or not. I found out from him that Diabetes and PCOS have alot to do with my problems. My body wouldnt ovulate properly...and I learned that if the body is senstive to sugar..it can be related to my body not menstuating properly. What a mess!!

      Treatments

      Glyburide Not Working
      This medicine gave me severe Hypoglycemia
      Metformin Working / Worked
      Yes, I take this medice 1000 mg per day. And I feel good when I take it but the trick is you have to take the same time every day. And if I skip the medicine or dont take it...my sugar goes out of whack.

      Hi there, My name is Moya....and I am PKU and now Diabeitic. I have tried everything all my life to lose weight....but the trick is I am PKU and I cannot do any of these diets Like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Nutri System...or even Slim Fast. I am not allowed to take in any protein....and my goal is to follow the PKU diet and lose weight and keep my levels under control. But HOW?? I have done it....the trick is to keep it up and keep going. I am going to try it again!!!

      NutriSystem Somewhat Helpful
      But I gained my weight back.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
      I used to enjoy the Stepper but now I love to go Bicycle riding alot.
      Slim-Fast Somewhat Helpful
      Yes it helped....but only temporary....and I regret ever doing it.
      Weight Watchers Somewhat Helpful
      Could never reach my goal... I always give up on myself.
