I'm now 16 weeks pregnant.

Where does the time go?

I had my appt wit my doctor today.  Heard my baby's heart beat again. What a marvelous sound music to my ears. I also saw my bay on the ultrasound screen.

My baby is growing fast it is now 4 inches long and so beautiful. I could see the little spine and all the little vertebre and the fat little belly. My baby doesn't look like a little duckling any more it looks like a little baby.

The doctor meassured my belly. It's getting bigger it must be all that food I've been

eating. He said everything looked fine and I was so happy.

He sent me to get some blood test for trisomy 18 and downs syndrome. He said it's just a routine test he does on everyone at this stage in their pregnancy and not to worry.

I did have a scare yesterday at work. I had one of my hygenists come to me at 10:00am

and tell me that at her doctors appt yesterday that he diagnosed her with shingles and chicken pox. I just about wanted to faint, but of course I didn't. I told her she had to

go home and to her doctor and get a medical clearance from him before she could come back to work. She went home and her whole work area was disinfected.

I went to my pregnancy book and looked it up. I've already had the chicken pox a as

a child but I called my mom and asked her. She siad she thought I already had it.

So I should have immunity to it. At my doctors appt today I told him of he could run

a blood test for the Veracella zoster antibody. just to see if I had it. He said that he would but if I have already had it I should be o.k.  I had the blood test done and should have the results tomorrow.

I'm very happy the nurse said that at my next appt they will be able to see what gender the baby is if it cooperates. Hee, Hee, Hee. at todays appt it was moving it's arms and the little umbilical cord that's about it.

I forgot to write at my last docteors appt he gave me a picture of the sonogram like he does at each appt. When I got to my office and looked at it again it looked like 2 babies in 2 seperate sacs. So strange I showed the picture to the girls at work and they all

asked if I had 2 babies ? I said the doctor said I only had one. They said it looks like 2 look?  It did. So I called the doctor the next day and told the nurse she said she would ask the doctor. She said he remembered only seeing one. But to bring my sonogram picture so he could see it.

I dropped off the picture after work. The nurse called me back and said the doctor said it was just shawdows and not another baby. I told him that my orignal numbers were very high but they found only one baby at the time. I also told him that I was starting to ballon out. He said it was normal at my stage to start showing. But that he would schuled a

sonogram at another place to get a more detailed picture of the whole uterus. And that he was sure that it was only one baby.

The nurse calle me that on a tuesday and said she had set up an appt for me that afternoon

for the sonogram. I went right away and was so happy to see my baby again. The tech.

found only one baby. and she said the baby was to small to see the gender. But my baby was moving all over the place she said it was a very happy baby. I had just had a small bottle of orange juice right befor the test. maybe that's why thebaby was moving so much.

She looked at all the organs and heart and said she would send a report to my doctor.

So that is my twin story. I was a little sad when I was told it was only one. I would have loved to have two. But I am so happy with the little one that I am blessed with.

I 'll fly to Honolulu, Hawaii  on Sunday and won't return till the 8th of Oct.

I'll have some fun in the sun, and have a little vacation.

I'm glad you and the baby are doing so well! I was a little disappointed when I found out I was having only one also, but it soon went away when I got caught up in all the baby fever. Congrats!
