I helped a client set up her profile on this site with the hope she would learn about others & get some PC time in. She is not very skilled on the PC or with writing so....
I read though alot of the journals & posts. In my line of work I see many horrible experiences & as many personality issues. People can be extremely cruel. Everyone from priests to teachers & every other profession seems to at point or another " Make the news " for some violation of trust. There is a " cry wolf syndrome " that prevents police, DSS, Teachers, behavioralists, ect...form acting or assisting when faced with a person who has been wronged. Unless there is absolute proof. I have also seen instances where the good people get accused because the need for attention is so overpowering the accuser cannot understand the harm a false staement can have on people who only want to help. Which only provokes the " not want to get involved " mindset.
No one deserves to be hurt but as we all know.....It is a double edged sword to offer to much assistance but what choice do we have. If you are decent, responsible person there may be no other solution other to take the chance & assist those in need. To protect & to serve as the PD saying goes. Seek the assistance but be wary of the effects. The first line of defense against evil is to surrround yourself with good. Observe & learn human behavior the good people are the ones who push for accomplishment & betterment. They nurture & are kind to all. Notice the little things. Are they kind to animals? Open doors? Even tempered? There are signs......watch for them and don't be afraid to reach.
