I am 26 years old and I've been married for 5 years. I come from a big family and my father was in the Air Force. I went to college for a Communication degree. After graduation, I realized my real passion was working with children. Going back to school is out of the question at the present. I am trying to get my husband into medical school.

Almost a year ago, my husband and I decided it was time to start trying for a baby. I decided to get myself tested to see if I am a carrier for cystic fibrosis. We learned that my husband has cystic fibrosis, but is asymptomatic. As a result, he is infertile. I was devastated. My whole life I have wanted to be a mother. I am the first girl of six kids, I am very nurturing and love children. I work at an elementary school, which I absolutely love. There has been a recent baby boom in my circle of friends and now both of my sister-in-laws are (effortlessly) pregnant. I am having a hard time dealing with this. I don't live anywhere near our families and haven't found anyone who knows how I feel. Please help give me the strength I need. How can I be sad and be excited to be an aunt?
My husband and his sister have CF!
When I found out we had fertility problems it broke my heart. I had to go on something to help me.
