Stress Mood
Wednesday, January 21, 2009

I am supposed to have a chemical stress test tomorrow, but I don't know if I can do it.  I feel to stressed to take  a stress test and that is no joke.

I just wish Bryan could find a good job that will last forever.  I am so tired of jobs petering out.  Why don't businesses value their employees who try and let go of the ones who don't instead of hurting all of them across the board?

I'm sorry - I couldn't help it. I laughed when I read "I feel to stressed to take a stress test", then I remembered all the stress you are up against. That sux. I don't know why business don't value their employees. They used to. Example: after being where I am for 21 years, they hire new people right off the street to do jobs I had to do to "climb up" to my current job, at the SAME rate of pay I am making after all those years!

Then again, why am I bitching when I have a job?

I'm really sorry you are having to go through all this WITH RA ....... Things are going to turn around. I never voted for a Democrat president before, but I think this guy has his head on his shoulders and the American people at heart. Better days are coming.

Stress is caused from many factors and being sick makes us very susceptible, but when you add some other factors to the mix, such as what you are going through, it just doesn't seem fair. This is a great site: http://www.medicinenet.com/stress/...
I don't always handle stress well and right now, I think I am having trouble with anxiety. So many people are out of a job in our town it is frightening, but I think of it as the beginning of something new-not fun going through it, but honey, you have to imagine yourself on an adventure.

    What is a chemical stress?

My mom was telling me how her father lost his job on the railroad, three weeks before he was going to retire. Lost all of his retirement. They gave him nothing and didn't have to. (This was a LONG TIME AGO), my mom is 85. Today, people get unemployment and there is money in a retirement fund, so a person doesn't get jipped out of their money. I am an admissions counselor at a university and love my job. I get to help students get an education, something no one can take away from you. So even if you get your job taken away, you have your education to find another one. I'm not saying that you or your husband do not have an education to fall back on, just clacking on about how much of a pleasure it is to watch students complete a goal- and hopefully fulfill their dream. Sometimes, dreams come to standstills and turn down winding roads but they do have many wonderful valleys along the way. This is but a standstill, you will find your valley shortly. Keep looking up. Hugs.

Trying to be a better friend Mood
Thursday, January 8, 2009
I am taking a few of my DS friends off my list, because they are ones I don't hear from much if at all.  That makes it easier for me to remember and respond to the friends I do have.  I hope I don't hurt any feelings.

That's a great idea. I was looking at my list the other day, and thinking of doing the same thing. A couple friends, I don't even think come here anymore. I did this with my journals. Nothing wrong with a little early Spring cleaning.

In the end, if someone is not on my "list", or I don't hear from them, or write to them, I still view them as "friends".

Anyway, if I was one you removed, no offense taken.

I know it's hard to keep track of our friends. I used to try to figure out what criteria I should use to decide whether or not to remove someone. I never did figure it out. The thing I have noticed over time is that some people don't check in at DS during certain times of the year. Sometimes the summer can get kinda sparse and then as it gets colder people return in droves. It also depends on which boards your on...I've been removed from friends lists - I tend to get sick for months during the fall and winter seasons - I felt really hurt that someone would get rid of me without making sure I was still breathing, lol. I know I'm a big baby lol. So now that I have felt that, I tend to leave people on. So let me just say "Present!" hugs jilly
