Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Seconday Progressive MSI am the mother of 5, 46 years old and have been diagnosed since Jan. 2006.I have had symptoms of MS since I was in my late teens, but no one could find out what was wrong.Dr's blamed it on stress and since I have 4 children w/ Tourette's Syndrome I thought they were right.Am trying to enter job market but am afraid of cognitive issues/ confusion, etc.
Treatments
- Copaxone Working / Worked
- Can feel like a bee sting, leaves painful lumps, itching . I use a warm pack after injecting and it feels better.
- Novantrone Working / Worked
- Amazing. I can feel my feet 'tickle', my hands usually feel like I am wearing gloves *sigh, but am starting to feel soft things. Usually take in conjunction w/ steroid infusion, get intense heartburn, fatique and symptoms tend to get worse for approx. 1 week after infusion. This medication is working for me, just had another MRI and have no new lesions since the last one- 14 months.
- Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
- always feel sick after , I never get energetic- only intense fatigue, confusion, unbalanced ,muscles feel very shaky and weak, after about a week, I start to feel better, sometimes forget there is anything wrong , but then the symptoms start again...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- I find this medication amazing. I had intense sporadic random shooting nerve pain a friend calls them ice pick pains which is about right for years sometimes often sometimes not I started getting them in my ears .oh...my....goodness...My neuoro prescribed Cymbalta and the very next day they were faint pokes. Now 6 months later...I dont have any. I am grateful and love this medication. I have not noticed any side effects except the absence of anxiety
