Ray of Sunshine
Mom, you are going to be so proud of me. I pulled myself up yesterday and took my son to dinner at Sonic. I did some Christmas shopping. I even bought me a pair of pants and I have not bought clothes since my major last spill of my eating disorder. I bought a hair brett sorry not sure how to spell that and three movies two our christmas ones and other is sad "MY sister's keeper" and black hair dye. I actually bought stuff for me and did not feel guilty yahooooo. I bought my son eight presents which was very hard to do cause he was with me. I had him go to look for ideas of stuff for when he goes Christmas shopping so it worked i was able to buy and sneek the stuff out and put in the trunk of the car and he had no clue i left the store. It was cute. I have no one to watch him so I have to shop with him. But I made it work. I had an awesome day yesterday. My ex in laws are coming in town and they are going to take JD on friday ugh. they are taking him to the Aqurium in Denver he will like it. I love you and I just had to share with you how wonderful my day was yesterday. :) I hope you are doing okay

Close Myasthenia Gravis
Found out had MG 3 days before Christmas 2005 - great present! Surgery for removal of thymus and half thyroid March 2006 - paralyzed vocal chords on one side. So now in August 2009, I have an inconsistently weak voice, 11 inch scar down chest but at last starting to feel better and symptoms finally decreasing.
Treatments
- Thymectomy Considering
- Took a long time to recover from the sternotomy with thymectomry and taking half thyroid out as well. MG flared up afterwards. Jury is still out as to whether it was worth it due to the paralyzed vocal chord. If I had my time again I am not so sure I would have it.
Close Diabetes Type 1
Diagnosed at 24 with Type 1.
Treatments
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked
- Used to use Humulin for 20 years but changed to Novorapid and Protaphane
Open Hypothyroidism
Tested thyroid in 2004 and found to be hyper. So, five treatments of radioiodine therapy later now have hypothyroid. Had half thyroid removed 2006 as enlarged with nodules and was was pressing on my windpipe. Now take thyroxine each day so no biggie. Get tested every three to four months for levels and tablets adjusted if need be. I wouldn't know I had this if wasn't for blood test as I have no symptoms.
