About Me
Married, have a daughter who has given me a son-in-law and two great granddaughters. I retired and enjoy writing, painting, decorating, but mostly spend days resting. Unfortunately had to retire early because of lupus. I have had lupus for about 17 years and hate it.

Close Lupus
Have had lupus for about 17 years. My whole life has changed. Finally learned to live with it, but it took a long time. Still searching for a reason as to why I have this disease.
Treatments
- Azathioprine Not Working
- Took it for 2 yrs, did not get any better. Did not have any side effects from this one.
- Cellcept Not Working
- Again, did not have any relief. Only took for about 6 months.
- Medrol Working / Worked
- Take this when flare ups are really bad. Yes it works well most of the time.
- Methotrexate Not Working
- Took this for 18 months w/o good results. Made me so tired and I seem to felt worse. Took it again this year and had a really bad reaction to it, so cannot take anymore.
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- Doctor says it helps a lot. Scared to stop it, just in case it is helping.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Every flare up, I take the prednisone. It's the only thing that makes me better and quickly. I don't want to take it on a regular basis. Can't sleep while on it and it makes my mitral valve prolaspe worse. Really hate this drug, but sometimes it seems like it saves my life.
