No Pancreas Tumor! Mood
Friday, June 12, 2009 | A General Update story

Well I found out my results of endocscopy. They still don't know if it's a hard or a soft cyst but it doesn't appear to be anything to worry about.  However, next year they want to do another scan and make sure that it hasn't changed any. In the mean time, they have raised the thyroid medication and it seems to be helping.  I'm not so cold anymore and have more energy, but the gut still won't cooperate.  Maybe when I'm finally off of work it will settle down.  Then I need to find a less stressful line of work.  Amazing how this disease changes things.  Stress that I could previously handle I can't deal with now.  A little bit at work and I hit the ceiling.

By the way, anybody heard of Somaprim?  I think that's what it's called.  I stumbled across it while I was looking for something else related to acromegaly.  It's a drug being developed in Germany and apparently they have already done clinical trials over there with it.  It's kind of like Somavert in that it is a growth hormone analogue and "supposedly" it's better tolerated than the rest of the drugs.  I need to dig up who is the developer again and see what's going on with that.  I don't mind being a guinea pig if it improves the quality of life.

Gorgeous sunshine and unsually warm for the northwest and dry.  Hope we don't burn up and blow away.  However crabbing season starts on July 1st.  Can't wait to get out there and get may fair share of dungeness!  Hope you are all enjoying summer.
