So discouraged having to live with this. I don't know whether the gut problems are due to the medication or the stress at work or both. I had been having severe pain in the stomach area for about two weeks. The initial pain started when I had to stay on the Somavert every day with the 10 mg. Then it got really severe and my intestines are really having a hard time pushing food through. All of a sudden the nerve pain subsided a bit but the intestines still don't want to work. I think somehow this stuff is affecting the vagus nerve which controls everything in the stomach and intestines as far as movement. I'm petrified that it's going to do something to the nerves and I will have more problems than I have now with my gut.
Anybody else out there having problems with Somavert? All of the drugs that they have tried have affected my GI tract. If this keeps up after I resign my job, I will KNOW it's the drug. I'm seriously thinking about going for the second surgery even though it's considered risky because this is no quality of life. Now my cholesterol sky rockted just in a couple of months.
Any one else have anything like this?

Hi Northwest I cant answer you as my drug although at first I was so so sick Im tolerant of it now.But this is the other thing Stress I saw my Encro he goes how are you I go very well as in my fight of the acromonster but the stress I was under was horrendous wont go into details but the tears and the grief not nice.He goes going by your results youre not doing to good my heart so sunk two years of fighting I thought what.I said its got to be stress he goes no sorry but we need to look at different options then I lost it and said youve not done an MRI something being working my eyesight has gone to 100 per cent on field vision from ninety eight I feel so much better.I got to have an MRI and the tumour has gone to well over under half its size.The encro says no stress would not affect my results but I think it can play a very big part but then we live with a sneaky one who has its rule of only gray and does not understand black and white.Oh the thing with this condition nothings ever simple JJx
