Just stopping by to show some love.I know what you're going through.I've had Ulcerative Colitis for about 10 years.It's frustrating.I also tried a lot of different medication.The only one that seems to kind of help me is Prednisone.But even then,not a 100%.I don't like it either.I hope you can obain remission.I'm pulling for you.Get well soon!

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis for about two years. I have taken every medication and do NOT want surgery for obvious reasons. None of the treatments I have tried have worked, including diet, Chinese medicine, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, and exercise. It is frustrating but I am still hopeful I will become better again.
Treatments
- Asacol Not Working
- Have an intolerance for this medication. It exasperates my symptoms.
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Not Working
- See Dietary modification.
- Azathioprine Not Working
- It worked at first, then stopped working after 2 months.
- Azulfidine Not Working
- This was the second medication I was put on after Asacol. I had a severe allergic reaction (Sulfa) and was in the hospital for a week in intensive care. I Almost didn't make it out of that pickle.
- Colazal Not Working
- I am currently taking this. It is not working.
- Cymbalta Not Working
- Didn't work after all...
- Dietary Modification Not Working
- I love cheese and haven't eaten dairy! Very sad. I also drastically cut down on sugar.
- Entocort Not Working
- This had no positive effect for me and I took it for 2 months.
- Flagyl Not Working
- Took this for a week along with other new medications. Became ill (nausea, loss of appetite, very weak). Stopped taking this but am not sure which medication caused the reaction.
- Methotrexate Not Working
- Took this for a week along with antibiotics. Became ill (nausea, loss of appetite, very weak). Stopped taking this but am not sure which medication caused the reaction.
- Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
- Has put me into remission once in the past. This lasted a month and now it just makes my face fat. I Hate this stuff.
- Probiotics Not Working
- I am currently taking this and wish it worked better.
- Purinethol Not Working
- Took this for a week along with other new medications. Became ill (nausea, loss of appetite, very weak). Stopped taking this but am not sure which medication caused the reaction.
- Remicade Not Working
- Stopped working only after 6 months....
- Yoga Somewhat Helpful
- All that deep breathing really calms my tummy. Im not sure why.
- Humira Too Soon to Tell
- Please work...

- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- I always feel great after my kick boxing lessons. Boxing is such a stress relieve!
