About Me
I am a stay at home Mom & 3D artist. I have had severe migraine headaches since birth and have lived with severe head & facial pain most of my life. I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia 2 years ago although I have suffered with it for over 18 years. I also suffer from other conditions as well - Supraorbital Neuralgia, Sphenolpalatine Neuralgia & migraines. Along with my condition, I have had problems with medicines that interacted and caused serious health problems and side effects with the health of my body & blood. Both my doctors and Pharmacists failed to catch the toxic drug interactions until I ended up in the ER when they found the problems with my blood. I hope that everybody can be their own advocate and read up on all of their medications & double check their safety (and interactions) to make sure they don't kill themselves (or a family member) accidently with medicine (w/children double check that you are given the right medicine from the pharmacy - mistakes are made & people, CHILDREN! die each year).--------------- FINDING A DOCTOR specializing in Trigeminal Neuralgia: I keep typing this up for friends here on DS & this is so important! I found my latest Doctor on the TNA website ( the Neuropathic Facial Pain website) www.endthepain.org ------- I enjoy helping others with their medical mysteries and offering emotional support to the sad & painful hearts I see too often on this site.

DEAREST HOLIDAY, MY GOODNESS! YOU ARE SO VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT YOUR CONDITION AND MEDICINE.
I FEEL FOOLISH ASKING YOU WHAT I ASKED. PLEASE FORGIVE ME, BUT I WAS ONLY TRYING TO HELP. HUMOROUS AND INTERESTING, THERE IS A HURRICANE COMING OUR WAY, AND I CAN TELL ITS DIRECTION BY THE PAIN IN MY FACE. I FACE GENERALLY SOUTH, AND TURN MY HEAD UNTIL I FEEL A SLIGHT PRESSURE AND PAIN. THAT IS WHERE I GUESS THAT THE HURRICANE IS. I THEN CHECK THE HURRICANE TRACKER, AND AM MOSTLY SPOT ON WITH THE TRACKER. MAYBE I CAN GET A JOB AS A WEATHER VANE! LOVE, DULCINEA2 -

Close Trigeminal Neuralgia
I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia 2 years ago although I have suffered with it for over 17 years. I also suffer from other conditions as well - Supraorbital Neuralgia, Sphenopalatine Neuralgia & migraines.
Treatments
- Baclofen Working / Worked
- works great for TN - at night before bed & helps w/ sleep
- Crying Working / Worked
- have no choice at times...
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- great for scar tissue pain from multiple c-sections
- Marijuana Somewhat Helpful
- I have tried to delete this from my profile but I can't - did try it but it hurts too much to smoke (it is supposed to be great for neuropathy) hurt my face too much
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- for break-through pain only / I use it 2 - 3 times a week
- Pamelor Working / Worked
- works good in combo with cymbalta / doesn't work on it's own
- Topamax Working / Worked
- works great for migraines
- Tramadol Somewhat Helpful
Close Vitiligo
At first I thought I just had really large age spots on my arms but then I realized that the patterns were symmetrical. My skin on my arms look like they are camouflaged. There are 4 people in my family with Vitiligo including my daughter.
Open Diets & Weight Maintenance
I gained 60 pounds having my two girls (it stayed on for 9 years) and I lost 50 of it last year. Now I am hooked on sweets & I need motivation to exercise. I love the Body for Life exercise program & free weights and I used to be an athlete (swimmer / dancer - tap jazz) for most of my life. I need to get off the M&Ms and work out hard or I am going to gain my weight back!!!
