Close Graves' Disease
I was diagnosed with Grave' Disease in March,2008. I received radioactive iodine treatment in April, 2008.
Treatments
- Radioactive Iodine Working / Worked
- My last blood work showed that my thyroid levels finally come down to normal (still high-end normal). But I still have tachycardia which my doctor says will eventually return to normal, as well. I will say that the radioactive iodine did have more side effects than my doctor prepped me for. I had a significant aching pain in my thyroid area for two weeks. I also had nausea for a few days. I think it was the safest treatment for me though, as surgery carried a risk for a thyroid storm.
Close Hyperthyroidism
I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism/Grave's Disease in March,2008 and received radioactive iodine treatment in April, 2008.

Open Gallstones
I became ill in April with massive nausea, vomiting, gas and bloating. Blood workd revealed I had elevated liver enzymes. After a couple months of trial/error treatments and tests, an ultra sound revealed a gallbladder full of stones. I had a laproscopic cholecystectomy July 1.
Treatments
- Cholecystectomy Working / Worked
- My liver enzymes are down. I still have some nausea, but the surgeon said it should pass. I recommend the surgery to anyone who is suffering. Little scarring, fast recovery. I went home a couple of hours after surgery.
Open Hypothyroidism
I have RAI induced hypothyroidism. I have only been hypo for a month now.
Treatments
- Synthroid Working / Worked
- Having difficulty getting the right dose. So far it has caused my heart rate to go back into hyper rates.
