My mother was diagnosed with MDS about 30 years ago, and has lived with platelets at 75,000 since diagnosis. Since April, her platelets have taken a nose dive. She has been down to 8,000 and nothing they have given her seems to help.

Treatments

Blood Transfusion Working / Worked

She has had a number of platelet transfusions in the past several months. Her platelets go up to 75,000 with a transfusion, then within a week are down again.
