I made it through the week okay.I ended up enjoying the job I was so scared of,and it's not so bad now.I would do it if I had to....
At the end of the day I was handing out things to the coordinators and my manager Steve D announced:"Everybody drop what you're doing and don't move.I have an announcement."Everyone else is seated.I am standing. Then he calls my name and I said"What did I do?"and then he reads a commendation for me cross-training and covering for this job which was embarrassing but really thoughtful.I got applause and red-faced.But like I said,it was nice to be recognized.I was in a good mood when I got home, and I took John to dinner. We had prime rib which was tasty then we went to the store and got some dog food and some other stuff. It was raining really hard when we were in there...but it slacked off. We're facing some flooding at a really critical time for farmers to be harvesting.I hope they get through it okay. They had a hard time last year too.
I have today off and I have some housework to do.I was hoping to sleep in but I was up at 3am so I got up so I wouldn't wake up John.He has to get up shortly and he will want to get on here for a few minutes. He will probably get rained on here.He did yesterday too.The high temp today is supposed to be 57* but right now it's 68*...severe weather possibility. The low is supposed to be 45*.
Well,I think I will get off of here and go do something constructive..wow, a McDonald's sausage biscuit sounds really good right about now...might wander down the road and bring back one for me and one for John....

WOW! Way to go girl! That was nice of your manager to do that, gives you confidence and boosts your self esteem, that really helps!!! Keep up the good work! Yeah, rain, rain, rain, it seems like that's all it does here too!
