Close Depression Supporters
Dan is my 33 yr. old son - recovering alcoholic, severely depressed, and has social anxiety disorder. I am divorced from his dad and remarried to a wonderful man - we are very happy. Dan's re-entry into our home with his problems/illness is very stressful, I need all the help, support & info I can get. I need help to cope with all this, feels pretty heavy sometimes.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Too Soon to Tell
- Dan is seeing a counselor from our family's past. It will be better when Dan's meds & diagnosis are confirmed.
Close Alcoholism
My mother died of scirocis. My son (33) now is a recovering alcoholic. I have been placed in the position of being his only support.
Treatments
- 12 Step Program Somewhat Helpful
- My son says the steps are helping him to deal with all of it.
- AA Meetings Somewhat Helpful
- He attends meetings at least 3-5 times a week. But now has terrible depression and social anxiety disorder - makes it hard for him to want to go to the meeting & be around people.
Open Depression
Mood disorder since menopause started. Never had to be on meds. before, but I can remember feeling depressed when I was a child.
