We had moved into our home in 1989, my wife cried when I brought her up the driveway. The home had been condemned, in fact there were two homes, one had to be demolished, boy did I see possibilities, did I say homes?? much too kind :)

Tears of joy I'm assuming?

not then, tears of fright!! my 2nd daughter was 4 months old and did I mention "fixer upper" and I MEAN fixer upper, fast forward 20 years and this little "fixer upper" has become my (our) castle! every day I find something to be grateful for, course I find something thats needs to be done also! arg! fixer uppers, never get bored and NEVER nothing to do! when we had realized our "American Dream" I was still good to go, the original plan was to "flip this house" a couple of years, ahh, no problem, then a few years, then my Dx, ok, plan change.

Sounds like the change of plans turned out to be a good thing and you are enjoying being the King of the Castle.

I guess I caught a "little" cold, holy moses! was I slammed hard, one day I could barely lift my head to get out of bed, I should say "fall" out of bed! lol, went to the GP doc today, some antibiotics and a B12 shot, DAMN!! never had one of those! I like it :). I hope this "feeling better" continues.
