"The mammogram people want to see me again. Now I'll worry a little."

It's Scheduled Mood
Tuesday, May 26, 2009 | An Anxious story

OK, I did it!

I go for my mammogram Monday, June 7 at 7 in the morning.

Now I feel like a herd of wild horses is/are? trying to break out of my skin.

I'm having a complete and utter meltdown, just because I picked up the phone and made an appointment.

I really need to learn how to deal better with stressful situations!

My goodness!

I would not be helpful to those around me in a crisis.  I'm sorry to say.

fyi... Do NOT sit next to me in a plane.  I don't think I could do much good in the unlikely event of an emergency landing.

Woo-hoo! So proud of you for moving forward. Don't worry about the meltdown - you dealt with the worst part, which was breaking through the wall you had around this. One thing at a time, girl, and you just did one big thing!

Um... Ok, my calendars here say Monday is June 8.

    Typo?

I just made my foot appointment. It must be in the air. Mine is Saturday, June 6.

I think you might handle things better, if you knew what to do. What you're facing here has a bit of 'unknown' in it, that might be why the meltdown.

I'm just taking a SWAG here (scientific wild-assed guess).

Although I have never had a mammogram :-) I have had plenty of CAT and MRI scans, countless X-rays, etc. Most are not that bad. I'm sure you will do fine. Just say 'good-bye' to the stresses and trust nothing negative is going to happen. I'm not sure how to deal with meltdowns, Kathy, so I am probably not being much help. What do guys know about mammograms, anyway? :-).

    Hugs

Proud of you! I know how hard that was! You're entitled to a meltdown. That was huge! Love you.

Yay, Kath! You did it! You will be okay. I know it's scary. Watch - they will find you are okay - at worst a little benign cyst or a misplaced lymph node like I had - and all this nervousness will be for naught! I wish I could be there with you to comfort you and try to help you calm down. {{{HUGS}}} You know where you can find me if you want an "ear."

I'm proud of you, you made the call. I think your more likely to do better with other peoples stress then your own. Its the way most of us are.. That way we don't have to deal with our own. lol. You will be in my thoughts as always.

II think the waiting is the worse part. I get the same way. I have been putting off an appointment for weeks now. Tomorrow I have to get it over with. Thank goodness, the stress of putting it off was killing me. Oh yeah, thanks for letting me vent yesterday.

Way to go OD, am mighty proud of you, with it that early, can Mark go with you? That would help you stay calm, It only takes abouit ten minutes so he wouldn't be delayed very long!! Just a thot. It does take about a week to get results, so put your stewing on ice for then ;)
