It's not an easy road to travel, but having a place to go for support and encouragement like here is going to help you to keep moving forward. I'm about 10 months ahead of you in the healing process, so I understand what it's like. You'll come out of the dark tunnel to the sunshine again. Please accept these flowers as a token of friendship.
Sometimes you feel a little better, but it is with you all the time. It has been 13 mths for me and somedays it still hits me like a tonne of bricks. One foot in front of the other that is all you can do and remember the good times they gave me comfort.
My heart goes out to you. Keep your chin up you will survive somehow.
Fellow San Diegan, I am so sorry for the loss of your precious husband and hope you find the strength and support here that I have in the past month since I joined. You are not alone.
My husband of 13 years died on June 16 and I'm having difficulty coping alone. He was 57. We were 'young' and our dream was so close, but it died with him. He had been fighting ocular melanoma for 3 years. The caregiving wore me out and now I have no reserve energy to care about a darn thing right now.
