Thank you so much for your lovely message of support! Haven't spoken to you in far too long...how are you doing? x x x
Good luck at your appt today - let us know how it goes! Just saw a post of yours from yesterday - I'm so sorry to hear you're still having ups & downs with the meds ... hang in there!! *Crossing my fingers for no meds by end of summer!*
Hey there! My hemo said way back when that we could start talking about going off at 9-12 months, so I made my appointment at about 10 months ... for no other reason than I was running out of my then current prescription and I thought "What the hey, why pay for another refill if I don't actually need it?" Just based on my circumstances: birth control, long overseas flights leading up to the PE, and my general speedy recovery afterwards, my hemo thought I could come off. She said more & more research is being done all the time on us young 'uns (under 65 years) who experience PE, and it is generally thought that 6 months of anticoags is more typical, and that a year may have been "overkill." She made it clear she didn't want to take me off if I, myself, wasn't "ready" though. And we went through a whole battery of tests (leg ultrasounds, lung CT scan and another round of blood tests ... and all came out with absolutely no evidence of clots or potential to clot, so ... I'm off! Thanks so much for your hug! I've got a couple DS friends on Facebook as well ... I'll look everyone else up this weekend! ;o) Take care!
Thank you so much. I appreciate your prayers and advice.
EH!!!!! LOL, how are you ,I'm right beside you...
I feel so blessed to be alive after suffering a multiple pulmonary emboli in my left lung June 10, 2008.... I woke up with sharp chest pain, lung and shoulder pain. Went to the ER, but was not diagnosed immediately. They thought I had pneumonia. I am 45 and thought I was in pretty good shape until this happened. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share your story. I still have pain in my left lung and fatigue quickly.... I pray for daily progress and healing! :)
I had a multiple blood clots in my left lung in June 2008. In the last five years I have almost always had on and off deep aching and pain in my legs. All ultrasounds have been ok, but they had me go in for venous mapping and was told that I had venous insuffiency. I believe that I probably had a DVT that got dislodged and worked it's way up to my lungs. BTW... I had a sports massage the week before my PE was diagnosed...
