Still trying to figure it all out. Mood
Friday, October 3, 2008 | A Frustrating story

I'm still reading and reading and reading. I have read more these last few days than I ever read my entire time in High School! I was not to good a student. Always figured that if I could not learn it during school hours I did not need to learn it. Really can't remmeber ever taking a book home to do homework. I am sure I must have, but I just can't remember it.

About the only thing I have been able to understand for sure, is just how much the media does to try to influence your beliefs. I have learned that the media is by far the most dangers and powerful........thing.........business........enity.......whatever you want to call it, on this planet. Just by deciding what to tell us and what not to tell us, they can spin any story just the way they want it to come across. Just think about this, they used to call it a "bail  out". There were lots of people that were becoming panicky about things and still voting against the "bail out". Have you noticed that now they are calling it a "rescue"? Sounds much less like our tax money is going to be spent to fix wall street and bankers screw up doesn't it. Now we are coming to the rescue and saving things. Now they are saying that they have a better chance of passing the bill even though it is now $850 billion when you add in the tax breaks. However they are not changing the $700 billion or mentioning the extra $150 billion very often. They hardly at all mention that there is now other things stuck on to this bill that have nothing at all to do with the rest of the bill. Tax breaks for companies that make wooden arrows for kids !!!!!!!! No kidding check it out.

Well I think I am getting it through my head that there is very little I can do about all of this. That is very very sad to me. I just feel so strongly that if everyone would and could put the time that I have, into trying to learn about what is going on that Obama would be sooooo low in the polls that he might as well pack it in. I am sooooo concerned that we are going to regret him becoming President.......I am also afraid that is just what is going to happen. We just really have such a crappy two choices to pick from this year. I have studied the other party candidates and they are even worse. We have soooooo many other more qualified people in this country it is just soooooo sad that they are not the ones for us to pick from.

I got the yard mowed yesterday Rhea !!!  I need to sharpen the blades baddly. It used to be such an easy thing to do. Now all that getting up and down off of the floor is just so hard for me to do now. Just try getting down on the floor without using your hands... Almost impossible is'nt it?  My fingers and wrists are just so tender and painful that it really hurts to get up and down. I never ever bend over without supporting some of my weight with my arms. Bending over is what usually "nails" me in the lower back and puts me out of commision for a few days. It has been a long time sence that has happened and I want to keep it that way. I guess I will just have to break down and get those blades sharpened though. They are getting soooo dul.

I hope all of my friends here have a great, safe and as painfree a weekend as possible.

"See" you all Monday....

I don't even bother trying to figure anything out as far as the government/politics go. I just know that this whole country is going to pot and nothing ever goes the way it's supposed to. Our healthcare system stinks, etc., etc. Glad you got the yard mowed! Have a great weekend.

Sharpening blades isn't easy. I remember my dad searching for a good lawn mower man years and years ago. Ones who knew HOW to sharpen the blades right. Back then alot of guys worked on mowers but few really had the art down pat on how to sharpen them correctly so that it would really cut evenly. My dad was a perfectionist! Me too! LOL! Come sharpen mine while you are at it!

I don't think mine is going to need mowed again. Still short. Next yr going to raise the whells a notch or two. Really cut it too short this year but I wasn't up to changing the level this yr. Now the hip is fixed won't be so hard. Getting down wasn'tmy problem it was coming back up felt like someone put a stop in place and always worried that one of these days I wouldn't be able to stand all the way up. Just be stuck halfway. Now that would be a sight! LOL!

Have a great weekend friend! Love Rhea

My husband keeps our mower blades sharpened. But we have to replace them often. There is so much rock here where we live.

Media--you are right, they are so biased. Even the reporters have to report a certain way--according to their bosses.

I don't know a way to get the real news without a spin being put on it.

    Take care.
