Just some thoughts. Mood
Monday, September 15, 2008 | A Rambling story

Well we are over all the Hurricanes in Florida for awhile I hope. I am so sorry for all the people in the path of Ike. That is such a difficult time for them there. As for those that stayed behind, I know why you did it. We will not leave here either. The "powers that be" will not let you back in to save what you can and protect what is left. I don't think they have a right to do that. Make you sign something that relieves them of liability and having to come in and save you if something happens, OK. But do not keep you from your own property just because of some dead power lines in the streets or trees blocking the streets. You have a right to get to your property and protect it and start the fixing process. The only ones that are able to do that are the ones that stay behind. Also here is Florida there really is no where to go to get away except to leave the state. Can you imagine the whole state of Florida trying to go north on TWO interstates! Better to be at home than setting on an interstate in a parking lot when the storm hits!

I am doing better. This weekend Debbie was a little down because she was feeling so overwhelmed with all the work and work and at home. Just makes me feel like I am not doing enough to help. I do what I can but it is just not enough. I need to just ignore the pain and find something I can do to make some money to help out. Problem is I have tryed and there is nothing out there I can do anymore. Sure makes me feel like a huge ball and chain though. Makes me think she would be so much better off with the life insurance money. At least she would not have to wory so much about money. Just have to wait though for my heart or something else to take me. Can't do it myself because the life insurance won't pay off then.

Got to go to the VA again today. They have to verify me as a person so that I can access my information on the MyHealthyVet website. That way I can access my drug names and in the future all kinds of things. It will really be nice when they get it all set up. Then I am going to see if it is to late to register to vote. I think I still have time it is more than 30 days until the election. I don't think I am going to vote for a president as I do not like any of the choices. However I will vote for anyone that is not a politician in the other areas. I am also going to ask them at the registra's office how I get them to add "None of the above" to the ballot. I think this will be a start for the Revolution to get all proffesional politicians out of Washington and politics in general. Then we will be more in line with what I think our forefathers had in mind for our government to be. For the people by the people. Not a bunch of proffesional politicians running everything and making all the decisions. I don't think any of them "get it". They are all rich and have no idea what it is really like "down" here.

I also have to go to my Cardiologist today. He will just tell me everything looks good but you really need to lose some weight. duh! Just tell me how to do that when most everything I do causes my back to act up. Life is to short to give up the one thing I am still able to do. That is to eat what I enjoy. I am interested to hear what he has to say about getting all of my meds from the VA since some of what he has prescibed is not on their formulary list. Oh well that's the way it goes. I have a ton of respect for my Cardiologist but I have to get my meds where they are cheapist. My VA Doc is a retired Cardiologist so I feel pretty confident that he knows what he is doing.

I added some old pics of some of the Dobies we rescued when we were doing Dobie rescue. I met someone here that calls herself dobiedot. I thought she and my other friends here might enjoy them. Putting them on here really brought bake some very good memories of those times. We sure do miss haveing 4 or 5 Dobies around here in our little 800 sq.ft. home. It was lots of fun and very rewarding. Really mis it. Just don't have the money to do it any more.

My aunt and uncle had dobies when I was growing up. Great dogs! sorry you can't continue with it. I wish I had an answer for you about what you can do at home. How about bookkeeper and tax professional or something like that that you can do out of your home? We too have been trying to come up with something else for our work. So far ideas but that is it. Love Rhea
