Managing Asthma Mood
Tuesday, July 15, 2008 | A General Update story

Still off work.  Some very sore chest  moments.  Followed a recommendation from "Healing with Whole Foods" by Paul Pitchford:  roasted walnuts morning and evening and each time they eased the soreness.

I've increased ventolin use and kept same doses of corticosteroid and long acting bronchodilator.  Sitting it out.

Also did some psychological work with EFT twice.  Healing is a messy and lengthy and painful business.  Saying that both times I reached a point of rest in the procedure that enabled a few slow deep breaths.

I worked on the link between the Chinese medicine system, (Paul Pitchford again) lungs and grief, the current pain and soreness, my current anger and anxieties about the physical frailties and dysfuntional state, the lung link with deeply embodied and stuck family grief and anxieties projected unconsciously into the absorbant vulnerable infant, born at a time of grief and reactivated grief. The anxieties now for me and then for them (recently bereaved parents), will I live or will I die? EFT working with the body meridians and acupressure coupled with the affirmation of deeply and competely accepting myself.

Managing Asthma Mood
Monday, July 14, 2008 | A General Update story

I felt fluey and chesty over the weekend.  I continued with my usual regime of inhalers plus lots of lemsips and hot honey and lemon, and hot honey and ginger.

I didn't go to my art studio on Friday and rested in bed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday cancelling all arrangements.  I felt a bit better on Sunday but got more chesty on Monday and took ventolin x2 and did not go to work at my hospital job.

I feel better this evening after more resting and doing some EFT (Emotional Freeing Techniques - Gary Craig) and some good nutrition, hot bananas and honey and ginger, morroccan hummus with lots of good spices, lettuce and cabbage with herbs and french dressing.and bombay potatoes and organic brown rice cooked with lots of herbs.

Going to bed now for a good night's sleep, for the best chance of getting to work tomorrow at my other hospital job.
