Obstacles in life are like logs in your path. You can step over it or
move it out of the way. You could cut it up and make firewood. Unknown

When you face your fear, most of the time you will discover that it was
not really such a big threat after all. We all need some form of deeply
rooted, powerful motivation - it empowers us to overcome obstacles so we
can live our dreams. Les Brown
Concentration is not to try hard to watch something. In zazen if you try
to look at one spot you will be tired in about five minutes. This is not
concentration. Concentration means freedom. So your effort should be
directed at nothing. You should be concentrated on nothing. - SuzukiHope is
like a road in the country; there wasn't ever a road, but when many people
walk on it, the road comes into existence. Lin Yutang
Every decision you make - every decision - is not a decision about what
to do. It's a decision about Who You Are. When you see this, when you
understand it, everything changes. You begin to see life in a new way. All
events, occurrences, and situations turn into opportunities to do what you
came here to do. - Neale Donald Walsch
After you ask for guidance--Listen! - Barbara Ann KipferThe face of truth
is hidden by your orb Of gold, O sun. May you remove your orb So that I,
who adore the true, may see The glory of truth. O nourishing sun, Solitary
traveler, controller, Source of life for all creatures, spread your light
And subdue your dazzling splendor So that I may see your blessed Self. Even
that very Self am I! - Isha UpanishadThe universe is loved not for its own
sake, but because the Self lives in it. The gods are loved not for their
own sake, but because the Self lives in it. Creatures are loved not for
their own sake, but because the Self lives in it. Everything is loved not
for its own sake, but because the Self lives in it. - Brihadaranyaka
UpanishadWe confuse attachment with love. Attachment is concerned withmy
needs, my happiness, while love is an unselfish attitude, concerned with
the needs and happiness of others.... A relationship free of unrealistic
grasping is
free of disappointment, conflict, jealousy, and other problems, and is
fertile ground for the growth of love and wisdom. - Kathleen McDonald,
"How to Meditate"Conquer Your Weakness
This is a story of one 10-year-old boy who decided to study judo despite
the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.
The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing
well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training, the
master had taught him only one move. "Sensei," the boy finally said,
"Shouldn't I be learning more moves?"
"This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever
need to know," the Sensei replied. Not quite understanding, but believing
in his teacher, the boy kept training.
Several months later, the Sensei took the boy to his first tournament.
Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third
match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became
impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match.
Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals.
This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a
while, the boy appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get
hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when
the Sensei intervened. "No," the Sensei insisted, "Let him continue."
Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he
dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had
won the match and the tournament. He was the champion.
On the way home, the boy and Sensei reviewed every move in each and every
match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his
mind. "Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?"
"You won for two reasons," the Sensei answered. "First, you've almost
mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the
only known defence for that move is for your opponent to grab your left
arm."
The boy's greatest weakness had become his greatest strength. -PravsWorld
