Please read your advice and hugs from everyone on this website daily.
Message me when you need to. I usually check my mail twice a day.
mrstobe,
Rest as much as you can. Sleep when the baby is sleeping. Carrying and birthing a baby is physically demanding hard work. Go to your General Practioner and get a real physical with complete labs. I think that pregnancy, labor and delivery are very stressful on the body. OB's deal with the checking you in and out of pregnancy but not with your general overall health.
So make an appointment with a regular doctor. I would wait until that doctor checks you out before resorting to psychiatric drugs. But if you've started, don't punish yourself about the breastfeeding. I breastfed 3 of my 4. My fourth is just as healthy. I felt badly because I had to take antidepressant. He is a happy well adjusted young adult.
Don’t try to do too much or try to be perfect. Don't expect the baby to be perfect. Ass they say in life poop happens.
Ask your partner, family, and friends for help. You will not feel it is solely your responsibility to care for the baby. You will learn from their methods and ways. Trust me you will a better mother for their help.
Make time to go out, visit friends, or spend time alone with your partner. Have the laws or in-laws watch the baby. Baby will be fine.
Discuss your feelings with your partner, family, and friends.
Talk with other mothers so you can learn from their experiences. You will feel better if you do. Remember that experience is the best teacher.
Join a support group. Ask your doctor about groups in your area.
Don’t make any major life changes during pregnancy or right after giving birth. Major changes can cause unneeded stress. Sometimes big changes can’t be avoided. When that happens, try to arrange support and help in your new situation ahead of time.
Ethan, I know your Mommy loves you very much. She shows how much because she cares for herself and that is how I know.
Sending some sunshine and prayer your way.I have been depressed for months now....I know how difficult it is. It is not your fault and I hope you see your Doc again..just to get some help. God bless you sweetie.
Welcome to our world Ethan :)
I am really well...ty for the hug and wishing you a safe and happy birthday :)
I've had ocd for about 13 years ( i'm 24 now). I used to have it very severe, so bad that at times i couldn't leave the house, and school, family life, friendships and relationships were all affected. After alot of hard work, and CBT I now have a quality of life and only mild ocd.
I'm very shy and always have been, knowing that im shy in itself makes me feel embarressed at who i am. I struggle to be myself, think people are judging me.
Just given birth to my beautiful baby boy Ethan
