Support Groups
Close Fibromyalgia
I began experiencing wide spread pain and unusual symptoms about 4-5 years ago. I have had several tests for thyroid, gall bladder, you name it. However last year, the pain became debilitating and I was off work for 2 months while doctors tried to figure out what was wrong. I did have surgery for endometriosis which helped with some of the pain but left a lot too. I was referred to a physical therapy doctor who has treated me for fibro, I feel quite a bit better .
Treatments
- Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
- I am fortunate to have a hot tub, it helps greatly. I also go to water aerobics (in a warm pool) a couple of times a week, works well too.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- I was already on Lyrica which took away about 50% of the pain, but I was left with burning, tingling, itching, numbiang sensations, the Cymbalta helped greatly with these.
- Heat Working / Worked
- Heat always seems to help. It is currently summer in here in the midwest, which makes me feel better too.
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Took away about 1/2 of the pain, and got me back to work from a 2 months diability.
- Magnet Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- seems to help with pain
- Ultram Somewhat Helpful
- helped with pain but made me loopy
- Vitamin B12 Somewhat Helpful
- Taking sublingual B-12, seems to help a little, but still have a lot of fatigue.
- Adderall Working / Worked
- Helps with energy and focus
Close Essential Tremor
I have had Essential Tremor for about 6 years. I am currently a member under the Fibromyalgia Group. ET seems to go along with Fibro.
Treatments
- Mysoline Working / Worked
- It made me very sleepy at first, but once they adjusted dosage and I got used to it, it has helped tremendously.
Open Hypothyroidism
I felt fatigued and began to gain weight after the birth of my third child. I also lost a lot of my hair. My doctor didn't test me for thyroid until a number of years later when I developed a tremor. The neurologist recommended a thyroid test and sure enough I had hypothyroidism. I also have fibromyalgia which I am sure contributes to the fatigue.
Treatments
- Synthroid Somewhat Helpful
- I feel lest tired, my hair grew back but I can't seem to lose weight and I wished I had more energy.
Open Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
I suffer from chronic fatigue and have for over 18 years. I also have fibromyalgia.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- It helps with pain and little bit with energy.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Exercise helps as long as I dont overdo it.
