well, i haven't been on much. sorry. lots going on.... first the beginning of august the whole famn damily went to great america in gurnee , near chicago illinois. i try to creat family memories for the grand kids, so that jthey will be close later on. took us approximate too long(4 hours to get there)!!! we met kara's family and amy's family in the parking lot. missy rode with us, minus chuck( had to work). amy's family was only able to go for one day, but it was one heckuva blast!!!! had so much fun and waited i soo many lines. i felt good that day, but i tell you i sat alot too!!! i only go on water rides, no rollercoasters or rides that go up or down!!! haven't done that in 26 years. i only know that becuz.... missy was almost 2 when i quit and she turned 28 on the 18th of this month...the on the second day we all returned to do the waterpark there... lots of lfun. i enjoyed the tubing thing the best. nice and relaxing!!! kara and her husband talked me into goinig down this slide that went up 4 stories to get to the top to go down... you go into this tube and just hang on to the mat that you are on and eventually after you have gone round and round you are spit out onto a slide that goes down and down... i had a hard time getting out of the "gate" and then when it finally spit me out i quit sliding and stopped half way across the flat part.. so i got up and walked til i could give my mat to the next victim.... i had fun, but i don;t kow if i would do it again... once just might have been enough for me. and the hubby ,acacia , kara and casino all went down at the sAme time with me.... and they all had to wait for me cuz i qquit slidiing, no fault of my own.....!!!! it was hard to leave them there when it was time to go.....they were saying til later, we had to get home... had to work in the morning.... i thought that was exciting, but guys you haven't heard nothing yet!!!!!!! i had something unexpected happen on saturday that was just absolutely terrific!!!! i know many of you know sandym. well she is originally from my neck of the woods and has family in town. she had come up to spend time with them, but they had other plans. she stopped in at the ice cream palace and asked what i was doing the rest ofl the week and basically i said nothing after 2 on sunday. so she suggested we see our chi-town friends. ROADTRIP!!!!!! while still at work she was able to get ahold of one. no one else answered her. and marcia was not busy. so when i got off work i went on line and found a room in schaumburg that was a real steal !!! so off to chicago we went... got there late, but went to portillos for a italian beef sandwich, it was delish!!! then the next morning we got up and haded out to highland park where we met the infamous stella,(marcia's one and only grandbaby) she is cute as a bug's ear!! in the mean time while we were driving sunday night, marcia found us entertainment for monday night. we went to see pat benetar and blondie at rivinia a wonderful concert venue. we spent the day at the botanical gardens and then the night at rivinia. brian lives right by it and belongs so he was able to help with the tickets... very nice of him. we were in a great location hote wise close to everything!!!tuesday we got up early and caught the train in palatine and went downtown.... we ate at watch towere plaza in the mitey fine grill. way too much food. i took it home to the hotel and then home to east moline!!we were up til 1 most nights just talking and laughing... we did discover something that we thought was interesting... each of us have RA, but none of us were suffering in the same ways.. sandy unfortunately has that paralyzed diaphram, so walkling was super hard for her. we stopped alot to catch her breath and ours too!!, but she was having problems walking. marcia's wrist was flaring up a storm( veins swollen and right on the surface of her inside wrist and a bump there also, but after a good night 's rest was gone. and me and my swollen feet!!! but we all perserveered(sp). you know what i mean. the firasst night we were there, we freaked out a young girl or two when they were getting out of the elevator... we had just emptied the luggage cart and was taking it down to the lobby, but instead of just pushing it, marcia and sandy took a ride... i was the pusher!!!! you really should have seen the young girls faces... it was price less... this is getting long... i'll write more later, becuz we did not go home til thursday... goot run , house work in calling my name. and it is not a good one!! hugs, deby

Sounds like you had a blast. My baby just turned 16 today. Man am I getting old, two adult children now and the last one almost there. Glad to see you back here. Kris

Amen!! Yes we had a ball, and how you can remember all the places we went is amazing to me!! I am so glad it all fell into place, except not being able to catch up with our other Chitown friend. Talk to you later my friend!! hugs sandy

Wow, you live life to the fullest, don't you? Your journal entries are always so detailed that I feel like I'm there with you! I'm happy that you felt good enough to do all that walking at Great America. Sounds like you had a great time catching up with friends - and meeting Marcia's grandkid.
