Deby - I didn't forget your recipe request - did you know how many there are? OMG! I'll be sending some your way to check over and hope one is what you are looking for.

Here's one of my favorites (not just peanut butter though):

    PEANUT BUTTER RIBBON BARS

    Filling:
3 oz pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1 egg
    1/3 cup peanut butter
    l teaspoon vanilla
    l/4 cup sugar

    Bar:
22 1/2 oz. pkg. Deluxe Fudge Brownie Mix
1/3 cup very hot tap water
    1/3 cup oil
    1 egg

    Glaze:
l oz (l sq.) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped; 2 teaspoons shortening.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease bottom only of 13 x 9 inch pan. In small bowl, blend filling ingredients; beat at medium speed until smooth. Set aside.

In large bowl, combine all bar ingredients; beat 50 strokes with spoon. Spread half of batter in prepared pan. Drop filling by tablespoonfuls over batter. Spoon remaining batter over filling. Marble by pulling knife through batter in wide curves. Bake at 350 F for 30 to 35 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE.

In small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and shortening, stirring constantly. Drizzle glaze over bars. Refrigerate at least l hour; cut into bars. Store in refrigerator. 36 bars.

    CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER CHIP COOKIES

    8 (1oz) squares semi-sweet chocolate
    3 tablespoons margarine or butter
1 (14 oz) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (not evaporated)
    2 cups biscuit baking mix
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup (6 oz) peanut butter-flavored chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate and butter with Eagle Brand; remove from heat. Add biscuit mix and vanilla; with mixer beat until smooth and well blended.

Cool to room temperature. Stir in chips. Shape into 1 1/4” balls. Place 2“ apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until tops are lightly crusty. Store tightly covered at room temperature. Makes about 4 dozen.

Oh, Deby. I sure hope your grandkids pass thru their illness, and I sure hope you don't get the same. My son and DIL just came thru bouts with H1N1, and it's sure nothing to mess with. You probably got carded for the cough syrup because you clearly had a cough from the kids. Hope you lose it quickly, and feel better soon. hugs, doug

Here's some chicken soup for your hubby so he gets better soon. (Does chicken soup work on backs?) How's he doing? Hope you're taking care of yourself and staying well too.
