  I am a fifty-six year old retired teacher, living in Texas. I was diagnosed with acromegaly in Feb. of 2007, and had transphenoidal surgery in March of that year. My IGF-1 level before surgery was 917 and the tumor was about 2 cm. in diameter. While I had a lot of the symptoms, fortunately it had not yet affected my sight. My surgeon believes he removed it all, but of course, the jury is still out. Thought this was behind me, although I know I have to do all the tests from now on. Guess I'll work on learning patience. I'm really glad I finally found this forum. I looked for something similar in the beginning, and felt very alone.

  Hi Jeri! Thanks for the message. Thanks for emailing me your journal too. I am not done reading it but I started already and it's very very helpful. I appreciate you sending it over. I'm doing ok. Trying to stay positive and focused. Some days I feel confident about the surgery.. Some days I just breakdown. It's tough!! :( I just want to be ok for my son and husband. How's your treatment coming along?
