Things to be aware of if you have had a tbi... muscle atraphy. The avm effected my right side and i kknew there might be some muscle atraphy.. i had read about such.. but i did not think it was going to be the a big deal but it sure is going to be. I will have to work hard to keep my right side strong and work every possilbe muscle with every possilbe physcal excercize that i can do in some kind of regualr routen.
sigh.. transportation is a big worry... I am experinceding 'helper fatige'.. friends and family are tired of helping me shop or more important get to critical dr and therapy visits.
They say well can not my husband take me... I reply 'he cannot get off work to take me as offten i need to go to the drs'. They just walk away and i search till i can find someone to take me.. or more than not theses days i jsut have to do without... and that is in part why it took over a year to finaly find medical help that understood what was going on with the pain i was having in my legs. It was my hips gone crocked and sideways!!! Mercy it is the worst pain i have ever been through.. makes brain surgery a cake walk!
I just hope that this info will find someone and save them the greif I have gone through. My adived is to keep searching for ansers and keep searhcing for a dr thaat will help you.
love and hugs.

how about home health care aide. usually if you are on ssi/ssd you can get a home health person a couple of days per week and they will shop etc., for you. if you have good insurance you can get home health even more often.
thanks for the good advice on the atrophy. hope you are feeling better!!! nice to hear from you.xxoo

Thanks for keeping us posted on how you are doing, and for the message directing me to look at your journal. I"m glad you were finally able to get a good diagnosis. I hope your pain begins to let up as you do the exercises etc. In the mean time, hang in there. I'm praying for you.
