No no no, you are not going to have to separate yourself from this group....... For myself, the journalist hasn't fully identified himself, or the publication he writes for.So who knows if you really want to share info with him. Now, since my hubby has had the MRSA, I am one of those talkative people who takes the opportunity to talk about staph and MRSA. So it isn't like I am ashamed of it. And I surely do not want others to have this problem either. So if I can prevent one person having it, by passing around the alchol based hand gel to the kids sitting around me in the bleachers...... If I can prevent one of the boys on the high school wrestling team by reminding them not to share any personal equipment, not sharing sweaty towels, passing out the hand gel, and yammering on about Staph and MRSA....then its a good day !! So please don't think that you need to separate...you don't.I am sorry that my post made you feel that way.So here is a hug.....Staph-free of course. * mischevious grin* Kudzu

    • Close MRSA

I was diagnosed with MRSA in February 2008. I developed a large abscess that developed into cellulitis. I had it surgically drained and the culture came back positive for MRSA. I had two more abscesses which were both drained and cultured. I had been put on four different antibiotics from February through May, none of which really worked. I had two more abscesses and Doxycycline kept me "abscess free" for three months! I developed an abscess on my face in November and Bactrim worked.

      Treatments

      Bactrim DS Somewhat Helpful
      Bactroban Working / Worked
      Doxycycline Working / Worked
Was on it first for a week, then for a month. Have been free of any abscesses or recurrences for three months!
      Hibiclens Somewhat Helpful
      Levaquin Not Working
      Walking Working / Worked
I walk and jog 2 to 4 miles almost every day which keeps me in a positive frame of mind as well as staying healthy.
      Washing Working / Worked
Use Dial soap and also Cetaphil
