I have met so many people here at DS who have become friends. Some seem to understand how others feel, are very caring to others, give a little "pat" on the shoulder when needed, a little hug, and friendship too.
Some offer great advice about "things" that are new to us. Every medical problem or diagnosis that is " new" is sort of scary. It helps to have someone who has " been there" to hold your hand. And sort of walk you thru the first part of a new condition.
Others offer a bit of "craziness" to help with these physical things we are going thru. We all need to laugh !! One of the greatest things to have is a friend who can make you laugh in the midst of feeling soooooo bad. Humor is a great medicine......with no side effects, and is free!! No prescription is needed.
Some quietly offer to keep you in their thoughts and prayers. This makes me feel good to know that someone is keeping my name and my problems in their prayers !! Just knwing that is a "feel good" moment.
Isn't it a good thing that all of us have found our way here to Daily Strength ? One by one we come here, tell about ourselves, and find hope, strength, and inspiration from friends that we didn't have a few hours ago.............
