Married to wonderful husband, have 2 adult kids & one precious grandson. Completed HepC tx 10-08 (awaiting 6 mo test) was fast responder) original VL 23million to 0 in 3 mos. Philosophy is to love/share with all and it will be returned in full! Laughter is my spiritual healer - humor makes the world seem a better place even when it sometimes isn't (lol). THIS IS CALICAT WITH INFORMATION ABOUT MONKEY. I just got off the phone with her... She has some friends on here that she cares very much for. She has been getting emails that she was sent a hug., etc., but for some reason, she is unable to get onto DS to answer anybody. I told her that I would let all of you know through here, and through the Hep C topic room, that you are in her heart and she will be in contact A.S.A.P. If you have any messages for her, please send them to me or here, and I will read them to her over the phone. She loves many of you and this is a total bummer for her. Otherwise, she is doing fine, kicking back at the lake with Lightening, and enjoying the evening ~ but this is really bothering her! Thanks, CaliCat

Hi there Monkey, Any results re. the RA? Younger d. is over for 2 weeks, but have only seen her twice-today she took me shopping (car's battery is dead) - wouldn't even come in for a drink when we got home. She just won't lsitrn to anything I say (so decided to say nothing!) Would love to have the small g'son for a day, but expect to be refused - she must love that asshole of a bloke she's married to: he's changed her. Have not yet sent the discs, - living minus car is a real drag, but got new battery late this afternoon! - Freedom at last!. I hope your silence means you are on holidays, & not bad heath. Close Hepatitis C
Dx 7-07 w/HepC G1a. Tx completed 10-08 - 0 VL! 6 mo test in 4-09 (fingers crossed for SVR)
Treatments
- Interferon, pegylated Working / Worked
- Side effects were rough but was blessed that it was not as bad as most - it worked! Although did leave me with Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Milk Thistle Working / Worked
- Still taking post-treatment.
- Ribavarin Working / Worked
- It worked-if I ate it seemed less harsh. I do miss my memory however!
Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
Found out all HepC victims whether cleared or not always show up RA positive on blood tests whethere they have RA or not. Waiting for next visit to RA doc 3/3 for results but probably clear (yippee)
Treatments
- Ultram Working / Worked
- This is just a temp med my Primary Doc gave me to relieve pain until I see Rheumatologist in May. It does help and only side effect is sleepiness.
Open Smoking Addiction & Recovery
I have been smoking since I was 14 and am now 49...it is way past time for me to quit. I am going to start Chantix but was told by insurance co I needed to join a support group before approval. I've been a DS member since 7-07 so feel very comfortable with DS and thought I'd try this group...
Treatments
- Hard Candy Not Working
- Works in comb w/patches or gum temp
- Nicotine Gum Somewhat Helpful
- Worked temp until I gave up
- Nicotine Patch Working / Worked
- Worked for awhile but think I need something like chantix and support rather than a patch
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- Worked great but caused me to be almost anexeric - couldn't eat anything.
