So the last surgery was worth 100 times what-ever my insurance paid... I can't believe that something so miserable could be fixed so fast.
I had my f/u with the surgeon this week- he said the fissures's still there, but that it is healing- and that I should be done with him. He also said he saw no evidence of CD down there, that this occured because of the severe diarhea I was having- that I (and I quote) "just simply tore myself a new one".
Saw my GI- he's pleased with how things have improved with the Questran (so am I!) and feels that I have no active disease at this time. YEAAAAAAA! Still on more medications than I'd like- but if it keeps me in remission- well, I guess it's not so bad.
I still have 2-3 bm's a day- but they are formed, and my energy level is even starting to come back.
I see my Endocrinologist to re-evaluate my vit D and B12, since the oral route isn't cutting it- and then hopefully I will have a loooong vaca from Dr's!
Gotta run, my little man and I are going to DC to check out hte Cherry Blossoms and the Japanese Street Fair.

YAY, YAY, Yay!!!! WhooHoo!! Such good news! How wonderful to hear that things are progressing so well! Who cares about the meds, you are getting results! I am just so happy to hear your news! Oh, the cherry blossoms must be glorious, enjoy! Hug the little man for me, Big Hugs for you! Judy P.S. I have a lovely old crab apple tree out back and it is a "sea" of pink when it blossoms, just gorgeous! I will miss it.

Well this is good news! I'm so glad to hear that surgery is a thing of the past. Meds suck but like you said if it means remission then it's a good thing.
I see my endocrinologist this month, I have a nice list of labwork and tess to have done before I see her but then I should be on doc vaca also!
Enjoy the cherry blossoms, I've never been and really need to do it!

You did happen to mention CD, I hope he did a biopsy whether he "thought" he saw it or not. Not to cast any shadows on your success, but if your body does have a problem with gluten, medication can camoflauge any difficulties. CD is not the only cause of problems from gluten/wheat, it could also be intolerance, which is different. If that's the case, you'll continue to be affected by it, which can lead to having an autoimmune disorder of any type your body is predisposed to. Medication won't stop that.
