As of Thursday, July 31, a little over a month had passed since I stopped trying to sell my townhouse myself and hired a realtor. The original price we set included the loan payoff , the 6% real estate commission fee and the (exhorbitant) fees that Maryland and Montgomery County charge to sell a property. My agents said it is time to reduce the selling price, which now means that I will have to pay money to sell, if I can even sell at the reduced price. It does not look promising.
I recently discovered from my agents that by industry standards, the mortgage loan rate was rather high for they type of loan I got, and then I found out that the bank loan officers make more money if they charge a higher rate. I am so angry that the bank took advantage of me the way they did. If the guy had been honest with me, I would never have done the refinance.
I am trying to find out what my legal rights are, but all the foreclosure resources are for keeping a property, not getting rid of it. And all the financial counselors seem to be for debt management. I have no debts except this miserable mortgage and house that I want desperately to be rid of! I know that sitting in my hot townhouse (I can't afford to use the air conditioning), constantly struggling with the steps, trying to keep the house clean for showing, and mowing and trimming the lawn is getting to be more than I can bear, with all my physical problems.
My back pain recently took a turn for the worse, possibly due to the chores I have to do, so now I am having to deal with this too.
