im a 32 year old gay male. i am a divorced father of 2 beautiful children. i work full time for an online retailer. i have been clean and sober since 4/19/06. i spent just about 18 years of my life using drugs and alcohol with no hope for myself. i live today one day at a time grateful for the experience which is my life.

Interests
learning a new way to live is definitely an interest to me, as well as learning how to be a parent to my children. i love camping, hiking, swimming, bowling, playing pool, reading, and playing frisbee in the park. i can definitely hold my own in cribbage too.

Close Meth Addiction & Recovery
wow, i need more than 500 words to tell my story- you know how tweekers can talk forever, right?? anywayz, i was a meth addict for close to 12 yrs of my 18 yr long battle with drugs and alcohol. the last 6 of those yrs were spent using large amounts intraveiniously on a daily basis. in and out of jail and institutions, on and off of the streets, losing touch with all sanity, i attempted suicide and was found a day n a half later, a week in ICU and i was all better. my sobriety date is 4/19/06
Treatments
- Detox Working / Worked
- i completed a 90 day inpatient drug treatment program. i cant imagine putting any days together without it. it was the toughest experience of my life, yet the most rewarding.
- Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Working / Worked
- i attend aa, na, and cma meeting on a daily basis. working a program of recovery has allowed me the opportunity to have a second chance at life living one day at a time.
Close Hepatitis B
during a routine blood test for the psych meds i am on, it was discovered that my liver levels were way off. further tests showed that i have chronic hep b. my viral count was over 300 million and my biopsy showed swelling and scarring. i have been receiving care for just over a year now and am doing much better.

- Epivir Somewhat Helpful
- i felt kinda funny the first couple of months but soon after felt better than i had in a while! my viral load was over 300 million, and a little over a year later is virtually undectable.

Open Smoking Addiction & Recovery
i have been smoking for about 22 years and am tired of it, yet can't seem to quit.
