    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

My mother has Ms, and has been diagnoised with it for about 12 years. She started with some speech difficulties that we thought were prehaps symptoms of a stroke. She had multiple testing done and it was found to be MS. The speech problems went away and for several years her main complaint was fatigue. In the last 5-6 years she has began to decline. At first she was having problems getting aroud, but was still able to walk. Then her eye sight began to fail, and increased problems with her bladder began. On and off for the past 2 years she has been on hospice with the diagnosis of end stage Ms. In October of last year she began to have alot of problems with falling, feeding herself, bowel and bladder control and now has been diagnoised legally blind.Since December she has become totally wchair bound and in need of assistance totally. She now resides in a nursing home. She has a foley to make her more comfortable for bladder control, has major problems with constipation, has muscle spasms terribly her legs are now contracted, she complains a intense neck pain and a sore throat. She has become for fatigued than before and her voice has become very shallow. She is having more problems using her fingers, and she has began having problems with her memory. This is my mothers history thus far with MS, I am just a daughter trying to deal with my mothers disease. She is just 50 years old.
