      I'm a single mom of 3, ages 20, 18, and 15. Only my 15 y/o is still at home.I've had Fibromyalgia, with all it's ups and downs, for over 20 years, but was not diagnosed until 8/2008.

      Thanks for your advice they R currently working with me to see if that is what i really have being this is new for me. I am going crazy here in pain in the mean time. But no luck yet with the Lyrica yet Thanks

    • Close Fibromyalgia

      I've been fighting Fibromyalgia by myself for at least 20 years. I was just finally diagnosed in August of 2008. Dr started me on Lyrica and it is helping.

      Treatments

      Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
      Hot baths, twice a day, help a lot
      Arthrotec Working / Worked
      Twice a day.....spines much more flexible now....got a little bounce in my step Arthrotec is an NSAID combined with a medicine that coats and protects the stomach.
      Heat Working / Worked
      Buying a heated mattress pad is the best thing I ever did. I use it every night and can get out of bed in the mornings now. I also use it as a heating pad after work, and as needed. I also discovered Beyond Bodiheat heat pads. 12 hours of portable heat for bad days or days i have to be able to be on the go all day long. I still use a rice bag, heated in the microwave, as needed.
      Lyrica Working / Worked
      I've been on this since September of 2008. I'm sleeping better, flaring less...flares aren't as bad.... they don't last as long....glad I tried it.
      Pets Working / Worked
      My dog and cat: their antics help distract, their needs make me move, their unconditional love tolerates me at my worst.
      Physical Therapy Working / Worked
      Got me to the point I could begin to stretch on my own, at home. Learned to stretch and breath to fight off transient aches and pains.
      Stretching Working / Worked
      Without this therapy, any other treatment is worthless.
      Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
      Arthritis Strength, three times a day....works with an NSAID

      Wondered about this for a long time but didn't have a diagnosis until 5/19/2009. Just realized I really don't know anything about how to live with it.

      Arthrotec Working / Worked
      Dr just replaced the Aleve I was taking on my own with this. I have high hopes for it.
      Naproxen Not Working
      Had to take 2 Aleve three times a day to see any results. Dr just replaced this with Arthrotec
      Tylenol Working / Worked
      When I take it with an NSAID
