I just saw your photo comments..lol. I can be a little slow sometimes. :) My Bipolar is pretty well stable. It's the stress of everything lately that's had me so up and down. I'm mentally exhausted and that plays a big part in it. Thank you for your concern. It means a lot to me.

      Hi,
Its not very common in Australia at all. I've actually only ever met 2 people with the same name... funnily enough all three of us were at a kids softball game! weird hey?
      gentle hugs,

    • Close Fibromyalgia

I must have been one of the first to get official diagnosis from a very progressive rheumatologist, God bless him - 1986! but he didn't know how to treat it-just used NSAIDs.

      Treatments

      Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
Worked out twice a week with water therapy group for several years, loved it but had to stop because of peripheral neuropathy and hand foot syndrome from cancer meds. Better now, so hope to rejoin group soon.
      Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
Helped for a long time. Switched to Zanaflex
      Cymbalta Working / Worked
Made dramatic difference, especially at first. Was able to decrease pain meds
      Elavil Working / Worked
Cause weight gain and hair loss - use nortriptyline instead for years.
      Heat Working / Worked
Use almost daily on my neck and back
      Lyrica Working / Worked
Caused extreme fluid retention in my feet. Had to quit - lost 15 pounds in two weeks.
      Morphine Working / Worked
Could not get along without it. Recently changed from Kadian to Opana - fewer side effects.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
Helps peripheral neuropathy - recently increased dosage
      TENS Working / Worked
Used regularly for localized spots - helps for a while
      Ultram Working / Worked
Tried a long time ago - not too helpful, but I know now it was too small dosage.
      Vitamin B12 Working / Worked
      Just recently started
      Zanaflex Working / Worked
      Necessary! Especially helps me sleep
      Ice Pack Working / Worked
Use on my neck when I get bad headaches and heat doesnt help. Also on my feet for handfoot syndrome and neuropathy
    • Close Rheumatoid Arthritis

I was diagnosed in December 2 years ago- had several months trigger fingers in every finger, 2 surgeries. Tried Sulfasolazine (sp) for 6 months with no help, started methotrexate. Have to supplement with Medrol packs times, for side effects. Take folic acid and monthly blood tests.

      Treatments

      Celebrex Working / Worked
      Worked for a while.
      Folic Acid Working / Worked
Began with starting methotrexate to prevent side effects
      Methotrexate Working / Worked
Works, at least to help joint pain and slow down damage. Side effects are far less frequent than at first. Some fatigue for a couple of days, tender mouth but no ulcers.
      Oxymorphone Working / Worked
Works well, but my teeth are rotting! DDS says it's from opiates. May have to quit.
Pain Management Clinic Working / Worked
Pain doc has helped problems with pain in my hands and back - meds, injections in several sites
      Prednisone Working / Worked
5 mgs daily. Dropped to half dose for a while, but ESR shot up. Used packs a couple of times, when pain in my hands gets bad.
      Relafen Working / Worked
One of several NSAIDs I've used over 24 years of fibro and arthritis
      Tylenol Working / Worked
Have to use this a couple of times most days when regular pain meds aren't enough
      Voltaren Working / Worked
I've taken this for several years for osteoarthritis, degenerative disk disease and spondylosis
