    • About Me

I am married with an adult son and daughter. Now that I am a retired RN, I enjoy my work as a volunteer helping with adoptions, rescues and socializing the shelter dogs at our local kill shelter. I love animals-especially dogs, cats and rabbits. There's always music, concerts, art, nature and certain types of travel that I also enjoy. When I feel stressed out, I find walking, the internet and shopping at my local mall relaxing (and there is always a convenient BR around)! Last year I had major surgery to remove two benign tumors in my kidney. I consider myself very lucky as I only lost 20% of my right kidney and I did not have cancer. One of these days I want to go for help in treating my nasal allergies which cause congestion and headaches. I can't take the usual allergy meds as they make my IBS worse so I plan to get tested and have the shots to decrease the effect of all the allergens.

    • Close Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

I have endured IBS for all of my adult life. The symtoms get worse ,of course, when my daily routine changes or I am stressed out. I don't like to leave my house in the morning because I am frequently bloated, uncomfortable and need to use the bathroom often. Now that I am retired from a stressful career, I feel better but it will always be there. Yuk!!
