      Stage: IIIB (Any T4)

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last June after finding a golf sized lump in my breast. I'm only 41 and no history in my family. I don't know if I'm cancer free yet. I've been out of treatment for 3 months. A scan in 2 mnths will show if I'm in remission. My husband also left me at this time after 12 yrs of marriage.

      Treatments

      Chemotherapy Too Soon to Tell
I don't remember the names of my chemo drugs but I know there were 3. Chemo made me feel very tired all the time. I could hardly walk.
      Mastectomy Working / Worked
I had a double mastectomy. I wasn't all that traumatised by it for some reason. I didn't like my breast anyway. My breast look better now. I had both breast removed as a precautionary reason although my cancer was in my left breast.
      Nolvadex Too Soon to Tell
At first I felt like I had PMS all the time but now I feel fine. I can't tell at all.
      Radiotherapy Too Soon to Tell
Radiation was fine. It wasn't painful at all until the very last few treatments. I got blisters but I took some pain meds for a few day's and felt better. I only had the BC in the left breast so the left side of my breast has a larger scar and somewhat depressed inward but it is better than the alternative.
      Reconstructive Surgery Working / Worked
Yes it worked well so far. I have scars but they aren't so bad. I had cancer in the left side so the scar is worse and more unattactive. I'm waiting to get my nipples. I have to wait until my implants drop some before they do that part.
      Surgery Working / Worked
I had one breast removed per surgery. I had a lot of postop pain in my left upper arm. It was a feeling of someone rubbing sand paper on my upper arm. It lasted a few months after surgery. I used the pain patch and pain meds because it was so bad. The doctor said he didn't understand why I had that pain but I think he cut my brachial nerve. Many women that I've talked to have had the same.
